SCERT organises 2 day workshop

JAMMU, Aug 27: A two day workshop on content awareness and pedagogical skills for teaching short stories/ poems/plays/grammar at primary level (English and Hindi) concluded today at SCERT J&K Divisional office Jammu. This workshop was organised by Department of Education in Languages (AU- 1) under the able guidance and overall supervision of H.R. Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT Jammu. In his inaugural address, worthy Joint Director urged all the participants to facilitate joyful, experiential and competency based education to cope up with transformation in curriculum and pedagogy. Kishore Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Hushyar Singh and Santosh Kumari Associate Profs. SCERT Jammu also spoke on the inaugural day. H.S. Chouhan in his speech spoke about restructuring of 10+2 school education to 5+3+3+4 pattern as recommended by NEP 2020. He emphasized the need of adopting the curriculum and pedagogy at all the four stages as envisaged in NEP 2020.
In this workshop, district resource persons from ten DIETs of Jammu Division were invited. The main aim of this workshop was to aware the participants about content enrichment related to Primary classes and to illuminate them about new pedagogical approaches for teaching language in the light of NEP 2020.
The resource persons Sonika Bhandari(Teacher), Manisha Chun(Academic officer, SCERT, Jammu), Geeta Bharti(DRG), Arsh Kour (Academic officer SCERT Jammu) oriented the participants about various pedagogical skills and approaches for teaching grammar, short stories, poems and plays to primary school children so as to make learning joyful and experiential. The two days training programme was coordinated by Mtr. Shamim Nazki and Manisha Chun Academic officers, SCERT Jammu.
On the valedictory function of the two day workshop V.K. Koul Associate Prof. SCERT Jammu was the chief guest. In his speech V.K. Koul appreciated the role and remarks of resource person and the participants. He advised the participants to disseminate their experiences and learning to the grass root level so that the desired objective of this training could be achieve in real sense.
The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Kishor Kumar Associate Prof. Head of Academic Unit I of SCERT Jammu.
