Krishi Vigyan Kendra promotes natural farming | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Sept 4: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Jammu (SKUAST-J) is promoting and educating the farmers on natural farming. Reasi district of J&K has huge potential in natural farming and the farmers can easily adopt the natural farming as already they are utilizing most of the natural resources and inputs for farming from their own fields. Many farmers are showing keen interest towards natural farming. According to Sr. Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal natural farming is a promising means of reducing the dependence of farmers on external inputs, reducing the cost of cultivation and increasing the income of the farmers. He said that by the adoption on natural farming farmers can enhance their income with minimum or no input cost. He said that the KVK is educating the farmers for the preparation of Jeevamrit and Beejamrit and also guiding them the practices of mulching and Acchadana required for the natural farming. He said that KVK is stressing on the production of quality and healthy food and this is possible with natural farming. He narrated that for a healthy society, quality food is required and natural farming can play a crucial role for the production of quality and safe food. He informed that natural farming is beneficial for the maintenance soil health and environment. |
