Javed expresses grief over fatal accident claiming 11 lives, seeks ex-gratia for victim families | | | Early Times Report MENDHAR, Sept 14: Senior National Conference leader and President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Pirpanjal, Javed Ahmed Rana has expressed grief and shock over the fatal road accident in Poonch that claimed at least eleven lives and injuring twenty seven others here today. In a statement issued to media here today, Javed Ahmed Rana while expressing sympathies with the families of those killed and injured raised serious concern over the pathetic condition of roads in the Pir Panjal region. He said that it is the result of the aforesaid conditions that fatal road accidents have become a regular feature in the region. The senior National Conference leader asserted that these accidents have also exposed the poor health and medical infrastructure across Poonch especially along the highways and linking roads which is necessary to attend to the injured in such emergent situations as the same will help in saving precious lives by providing the accident victims instant treatment facilities. Javed Ahmed Rana appealed to the J&K Administration led by the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to immediately appropriate ex-gratia to the kin of those killed in today's accident as also to the injured. He also appealed for the best medical treatment for the survivors by the government. It is pertinent to mention here that at least 11 people died and 27 others were injured some of them critically after a bus they were travelling in from Mandi to Saujiyan skidded off the road at Bareri Nallah and plunged into a deep gorge this morning. Rescue operation was launched soon after the accident. |
