5 months after joining, senior leader mulling to quit AAP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 18: Within five months after joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with much fanfare, a senior politician is seriously thinking to say goodbye to the party due to the indifferent attitude of the leadership. Highly placed sources said that the former MLA, who had joined the AAP with the hope to serve the people of the Jammu region with dedication, is disheartened due to the attitude of those at the helm of the affairs. Sources close to the leader told the Early Times that for the last couple of months he is not participating in any activities of the party. “Instead of using the banner of AAP, the leader is rather working independently because people of Jammu region are not to accept Delhi-based political outfit due to its policies”, sources said and revealed that the former MLA is likely to quit the party in coming days. Sources said that both BJP and Ghulam Nabi Azad have established contact with the former MLA but he has not opened his cards. As reported earlier, two months have passed after the dissolution of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the AAP but the party's high command has failed to revamp the organization. Highly placed sources in the AAP said that initial enthusiasm in the favour of the party has disappeared because the real face of the leadership has been exposed. On the one hand, AAP leadership has failed to woo any non-controversial leader to join the party, and secondly, developments in Delhi have dented the image of the party in Jammu and Kashmir also. Delhi’s Excise scam and law and order situation in Punjab has badly dented the image of the party in Jammu and Kashmir. |
