Cong discusses upcoming presidential elections, organizational activities | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Thursday held an extraordinary meeting of PCC delegates at Srinagar Party office wherein threadbare discussions were held on organizational affairs and activities in all the districts of Kashmir province. The meeting also held discussion on upcoming Presidential elections in Jammu and Kashmir and advised the delegates to participate in the elections and caste their vote in a transparent manner. J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Vikar Rasool Wani presided over a meeting of PCC delegates at Srinagar Party headquarter and received feedback about the party activities in their respective districts. Wani urged them to get united and feel resolute in their endeavor to strengthen the Congress party at grass roots, for the fact, Congress represent urges and aspirations of the people, it will continue to fight for their genuine rights, at every appropriate forum. JKPCC President expressed confidence over the enthusiasm found in the delegates with regard to upcoming Presidential elections and said Congress is the only party which believes in internal democracy, so the elections are being held shortly the delegates across the country would choose their New Party President. On this occasion, JKPCC President castigated Centre and JK Govt for failing to come upto the expectations of the people even after making tall claims on the floor of the house. The promises with regard to employment generation, development, protection of the people's rights have fallen flat whilst people are feeling insecure given the wrong and anti-people policies of the BJP Govt, he said. Congress party and people of J&K will fight against vendetta and divisive politics of BJP, won't compromise on anti-people measures that are being taken by the Govt inorder hide their failure on employment, economic, development and others fronts, Wani added. Senior Congress Leaders Ghulam Nabi Monga, Mohd Anwar Bhat, Surinder Singh Chani, DCC Presidents, Prominent leaders and others also addressed the meeting. |
