No place for anti-nationals
10/16/2022 10:58:48 PM

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has acted tough yet again by ordering dismissal of five employees for their involvement in anti-national activities.
After the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, the government amended the service rules to make the system more transparent and show the anti-national employees their right place.
The process to filter dead wood commenced in 2019 when J&K Government initiated a process to identify the employees who were “ineffective in work or not fit to continue” after completion of 22 years of service or those having attained 48 years of age.
The government had amended Article 226 (2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Regulations for a provision to retire at any time any government servant after he/she completes 22 years of service or attains 48 years of age.
The appropriate authority was empowered to give either three months’ prior notice or three months’ salary to retire any underperforming employee and the ones who were working against the interests of the government.
After the rules were amended noose was tightened around the anti-national employees and the ones, who were a burden on the exchequer. The employees who were drawing their salaries without doing any work were thrown out and the ones who were involved in the activities inimical to peace were also terminated. The axe also fell on the corrupt employees and the ones who were involved in anti-social activities. The government acting tough sent a clear message to one and all that no nonsense will be tolerated and only those who can perform and remain loyal to the country will fit into the system.
During the past three years the system in J&K has become transparent. The employees don’t take their jobs for granted anymore. Nor do they delay the tasks that are assigned to them. They are aware that all their activities are being monitored and if they indulge in any sort of misadventure they will have to pay heavily for it.
Recently, the government terminated 36 J&K police personnel for their involvement in corrupt and anti-social activities. The message is clear that the system will absorb only performers and the loyal people others will be ejected.
