AAP becoming synonymous with corruption scams | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 17: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi has been hogging headlines for wrong reasons. It has become synonymous with corruption scams. Recently, BJP President J P Nadda accused the AAP of breaking all the records of corruption set by the Congress Party. When AAP came into power in Delhi it promised people that the party would provide a clean government. However, the recent Excise Scam involving its senior minister, purchase scam of DTC buses, discrepancies in the construction of toilets and in the Delhi Jal Board have left AAP leadership embarrassed. Five AAP MLAs are out on bail and many are facing different charges. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had promised that if his party comes into power it will impose prohibition. Instead, he has opened liquor shops in every nook and corner of Delhi. An analyst while talking to early Times said, “The Aam Admi Party has failed to live upto the expectations of people in Delhi as its leaders have remained busy in making themselves rich.” He said, “After failing in Delhi miserably the AAP is eyeing Jammu. Its leaders are day dreaming as the Jammu people are politically aware and won’t get carried away by the hollow slogans raised by any party.” The analyst said, “The AAP leaders have lost credibility and no one in Jammu is taking the party seriously. The party had announced its arrival with a big bang in Jammu region but it has failed to make any impact.” He said, “The AAP during the past few years has suffered serious setbacks in Delhi and the performance of the government formed by it in Punjab hasn’t been upto the mark. The AAP leaders in Jammu won’t find it easy to convince the voters in Jammu region as the track record of the party is not that clear.” |
