Induction Programme for New Faculty Members at MIER College

Jammu, Oct 19: MIER College of Education organized an induction programme for its new faculty members. Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER Group of Institutions, Dr. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal MIER College, Mrs. Rupa Gupta, Jt. Director, Dr. Mool Raj Sharma, HoD PG Department, Dr. Rohnika Sharma, HoD UG Department along with the IQAC Team and newly appointed faculty members of Special Education, Psychology, English and Political Science disciplines attended the programme. Dr. Adit Gupta formally welcomed the faculty members to the MIER family and elaborated on the different academic programmes the College is offering. He highlighted the achievements of the College and also talked about the national and international linkages, various professional development programmes, opportunities and support systems. Dr. Renu Gupta explained the mission and vision of the College and made the new faculty members aware about the organogram of the College. She also deliberated on the expectations of the faculty members in relation to students, colleagues and the management and also shared the annual faculty appraisal process.
Mrs. Rupa Gupta talked about the meaning of induction, its importance and purpose. The newly inducted faculty members formally introduced themselves by highlighting their achievements.
Jasleen Mohial, Coordinator IQAC, emphasized on the quality management system of the College, specifically IQAC and its significance in meeting various quality benchmarks. She also discussed about the feedback process and its application in improving the quality objectives. Pranav Gandotra, HR Manager, explained the nature of appointment, the leave rules and features of the software-FactoHR. Dr. Mool Raj discussed about the academic procedure in which he explained about the effective teaching-learning process and four academic duties that the teachers need to fulfill i.e., teaching, administrative, research and professional development and evaluation. Dr. Rohnika Sharma shared her experiences as a teacher highlighting the importance of planning, management, and effective implementation of teaching learning processes. The session culminated with an open discussion wherein the new faculty members shared their experiences and future road map.
