SI paper leak scam: Court sends Medical Officer on 10-day police remand | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 19: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh today sent Dr Karnail Singh, Medical Officer of BSF on a 10 day police remand. The accused was arrested by CBI in connection with Sub Inspector paper leak scam in Jammu and Kashmir. The accused was produced by the CBI in a court in connection with aforesaid FIR for offences under section 120-B read with Section 420 of IPC alongwith Case Diary with a prayer for grant of fifteen (15) days of police remand in respect of accused. The CJM after perusal of CA file observed that accused seems to have been arrested on 18.10.2022 in FIR in question. Investigation is at initial stage in so far as it pertains to accused. In order to pin-down the role of accused in the FIR in question, prayer of investigating agency to seek police remand in respect of accused, on facts and for reasons outlined in application, therefore seems to be validly tenable and is therefore granted. Accused is thus remanded to police custody for a period of ten (10) days from today till 28.10.2022. (JNF) |
