Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 22: IRP 19th Battalion organized 'Sammaan' parade on national police day-2022 at battalion headquarters Kathua to pay homage and highest honour to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the sake of the nation.
SSP Benam Tosh Commandant, SP Dewaker Singh Deputy Commandant, Deputy SP Deepak Tufchi, and all senior officers present on the occasion laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs Memorial and paid rich tributes to the real heroes of the current age who have attained martyrdom.
On the occasion, 'Shaheedon ko Salaami' followed by "Shok Shashtra" was presented by the ceremonial 'Sammaan' parade amid martyrs music, bugles, band and related songs to pay tribute to the martyrs of Police, BSF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, CISF, NSG, Assam Rifles, CD & HG.
Abhishek Sharma functioned as Parade Commander whereas Tarsem Bhagat was designated as Second- in-command Parade Commander. Sarita Sharma performed duties as Commander of Roll of Honour Party. This "Sammaan Parade" on the National Police Day was organized exactly on the pattern of J&K's main National Police Day Parade function held at Srinagar.
Addressing the "Sammaan Parade", SSP Benam Tosh Commandant IRP 19th Battalion exhorted the police officials to keep morale high and wipe out militancy. He said that militancy in J&K is still languishing and sources & circles of militancy are yet to be completely vanished. J&K Police has been playing pivotal role in fight against militancy ever since it raised its ugly head in J&K and officers and Jawans have been laying down their own precious lives every year to save the precious lives of others especially civilians: children, women and elders of the society." we have lost several colleagues in the long war against militancy in J&K during the past over three decades and we salute them for their supreme sacrifices on this National Police Day-2022", he added. Benam Tosh further said that in addition to the intensified tactical operations against militants, legal battles in the courts of law have to be fought effectively against terrorists, their supporters, harbourers and sympathizers to wipe out militancy and every Police official should make special efforts towards that end.
