Rajnath’s clear message
10/28/2022 11:01:31 PM

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during his speech in Srinagar on the occasion of ‘Infantry Day’ hinted at retrieving Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
He reiterated that the goal of overall development in the twin Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will be achieved “after reaching Gilgit and Baltistan”--parts of PoK.
The Defence Minister has given a clear message that retrieving PoK is on the top of the government’s agenda. PoK has been under illegal occupation of Pakistan for the past 70-years and its people too have now started raising their voice against the tyrannical Pakistan rulers.
After the abrogation of Article 370, J&K has witnessed unprecedented development. On the other hand PoK has not witnessed much development since 1947 when it was occupied by Pakistan as it has been treated as a colony by Islamabad.
The PoK has been used as a breeding ground for terrorists and its people have been kept deprived of the basic facilities and amenities. After seeing the development in Jammu and Kashmir, people in PoK have become restless and they are hoping that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi would intervene and liberate it. Rajnath Singh during his speech referred to the “atrocities” committed by Pakistan against the people in PoKand warned that the neighbouring country will have to “bear its consequences”. “Terrorism has no religion. The only aim of terrorists is to target India,” Singh said.
After Narendra Modi has taken over as the Prime Minister of India, he has sent a clear message to the world that India cannot be taken for granted. He has driven home a point that Pakistan’s actions won’t be tolerated and it would get a befitting reply if it indulges in any misadventure.
After abrogation of Article 370, PM Modi led dispensation has made it clear on many occasions that getting PoK back is next on the agenda and whenever the political leadership takes a final call over it the armed forces will be given the go ahead to liberate the part of Kashmir that is under illegal occupation of Pakistan. The neighbouring country should read the writing on the wall and stop supporting terrorists, otherwise it will have to face serious repercussions.
