| ASCOMS organized annual conference | | |

Jammu, Oct 28: 5th Annual Conference of Jammu and Kashmir Orthopaedics Association (5th JKOACON) is being organised by the Department of Orthopaedics, ASCOMS and Hospital, Sidhra at Hotel Radisson Blu, Jammu. It is an annual event that is being organised in the City Of Temples. Prof. Rajesh Gupta President JKOA and Organising Secretary of 5th JKOACON said that we have invited guest faculty from all over India for the event and they will share their work about different aspects in Orthopaedics. He further stated that more than 200 delegates have registered for the conference. The president Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) Prof. Ramesh Sen said that academic events have given opportunities to the Orthopaedicians in the state to further honed their skills and learn from the masters of orthopaedics. This year the IOA President theme is “Success with Soft Surgical Skills”.
Prof. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS Hospital, Sidhra, formally inaugurated the conference. He stated that ASCOMS Hospital is at forefront of spreading knowledge and wished goodluck for the event. During the event, lifetime acchievement award was given to Prof. Deedar Singh, EX-HOD Orthopaedics, GMC, Jammu and ASCOMS Hospital, Sidhra for his contributions in the field of Orthopaedics in the UT of J&K.
There were two orations, Prof. V.K Pachnanda oration delivered by Dr. Ram Chadha, Vice President IOA on “Nothing lasts forever”, Prof. Farooq A. Ashai oration delivered by Dr. Navin Thakkar General Secretary IOA on “My journey of innovation and patenting – May help my collegue friends.
At the end of orations the guests were felicitated with mementoes. |
