Delhi air quality deteriorates, Kejriwal stages political stunts to divert attention | | | Agencies
New Delhi, Oct 29: The Aam Aadmi Party government led by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi has been once again caught on a wrong foot as the air quality in the national capital has worsened. The AAP imposing a ban on bursting fire crackers on the occasion of Diwali, a move which was viewed as anti-Hindu, didn’t make much difference as the air quality has deteriorated. To hide its failures, the AAP government has tried to put the blame on Lieutenant Governor of Delhi claiming he purposely did not approve their 'Red Light on, Gaadi Off' campaign aimed towards reducing pollution. The LG however, shot back, saying AAP "lied" about the rollout date of the campaign. Amid worsening pollution levels in Delhi, the Centre's air quality panel has directed the authorities in the National Capital Region to implement curbs such as a ban on construction and demolition activities under the Graded Response Action Plan stage III. The latest forecast of air quality warns that it's set to worsen and remain in the "very poor" category for at least a couple of days, which can trigger health advisories. Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, is trying to divert the attention from the real issues by staging political stunts but nothing is helping his cause as people of Delhi seem determined to teach a lesson to AAP for only doing lip service and its failure to deliver. |
