Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 6: In order to give a philip to experential learning in agriculture education, a competition to assess the harvesting skills of students undergoing practical crop production at Division of Agronomy, SKUAST-Jammu, Chatha was organised. The programme has been conducted under the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) component of the National Agriculture Higher Education Project (NAHEP) operational at SKUAST-Jammu in which students participated in large numbers. Organization of this kind of competition is the first of its kind conceived and presided over by Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu to infuse skills and enthusiasm in students to usher for practical learning. While interacting with the students, Prof. Sharma emphasised the importance and strength of team spirit in various facets of our lives and exhorted the students to learn professional skills rather than to be focused only to earn degrees. Dr. A. P. Singh, Prof. Agronomy welcomed the Chief guest and other officers, scientists and students of the university and briefed about the event. Those who were also present include Dr. Pradeep wali, Director Reserach, Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, DPM, Dr. J. S. Soodan, Dean, Faculty of Dairy Science, Dr. Rajinder Peshin, Dr. Vikas Sharma, Dr. Meenakshi Gupta, Dr. M. C. Dwivedi, Dr. Neetu Sharma, Dr. Dr. Manpreet Kour, Dr. R. Puniya, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. M. K. Pandey and Dr. Vijay Khajuria. |
