One day training programme held

JAMMU, Nov 6: One Day Training Programme on "Registration of Births & Deaths through Civil Registration System (CRS) Portal" was organized under the patronage of Director General, Economics & Statistics, J&K (Chief Registrar Births & Deaths, J&K) Ms. Satvir Kour Sudan for the District Level Master Trainers (Chief Medical Officers- District Registrars and District Statistics & Evaluation Officers- Additional District Registrars) on November 5, 2022 in the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, J&K, Jammu in collaboration with Director Census Operations, J&K, Jammu. Officers from O/o Director Census Operations, J&K were the resource persons of the training programme.
The Chief Registrar Births & Deaths, J&K (Director General, Economics & Statistics, J&K) welcomed the participants and elucidated about the need for implementation of Civil Registration System- Registration of Birth & Death Rules- 2022 in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Joint Director (Central), DES (Deputy Chief Registrar) gave a detailed presentation about the implementation of the Civil Registration System (Registration of Birth & Death Rules, 2022), duties and responsibilities of registration functionaries, future roadmap for shifting to online registration through Web Portal of ORGI for Registration of Births & Deaths and action required to be taken by the line departments for implementation of the Civil registration System.
Ram Murti, Deputy Director and S. Manmeet Singh, Assistant Director, O/o Director Census Operations, J&K highlighted the use and purpose of Births & Deaths Certificates along with the importance of recording of the occurrence and the characteristics of the vital events which is subsequently used to study the demographic profile and other features. They also highlighted the role of local registrars and areas falling within their jurisdiction for issuance of Birth & Death Certificates followed by imparting training to the Master Trainers/ participants for switching over to the online Registration of Births & Deaths through CRS Portal.
The training programme was also attended by Regional Director (E&S), Kashmir/ Jammu (Additional Chief Registrar), Joint Director (Central), DES (Deputy Chief Registrar), Deputy Director (HQ), Directorate of Health Services, Jammu/ Kashmir (Assistant Chief Registrar). Besides, Joint Director (Administration), Directorate of Rural Development, Jammu/ Kashmir also participated in the training programme. Officers/ Registration Functionaries from Kashmir Division participated through virtual mode.
