JAMMU, Nov 7: Chairman, Public Health Sanitation Committee (PHSC), JMC, Raj Kumar Tarkhan chaired a meeting of the Health and Sanitation Committee to review cleanliness and garbage lifting. The meeting was attended by the Corporators, Tirath Kaur, Sobat Ali, Rajinder Singh, Joint Commissioner (Health & Sanitation), Kulbushan Khajuria, Joint Commissioner (Works), Secretary, Parvinder Kour, Executive Engineer, UEED, Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Transport Officers and other field officers/officials. The Chairman of the Committee directed for implementation of the beat-wise working roster of sanitation staff across all the wards of the Jammu Municipal Corporation. Besides, feedback shall also be obtained from the residents of the concerned ward regarding cleanliness and only after ensuring the satisfactory feedback, payments shall be released. Directions were also issued for collecting usage charges from the commercial establishments as well as residential households of the wards. It was also informed that the wards falling under Channi Himmat, Gandhi Nagar and other adjoining areas are facing problem of cleanliness and garbage lifting due to insufficient Safai Sathi and garbage lifting vehicles. He directed for conducting an extensive tour of different wards by the officers of the Jammu Municipal Corporation so that each ward may get sufficient number of Safai Sathi and garbage lifting vehicles. |
