Court sends 4 accused on 10-day police remand | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 7: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Jammu has granted 10-day police remand to four accused in Sub-Inspector paper leakage scam. CJM Amarjeet Singh Langeh granted 10-day police remand of Surinder Singh son of Rajinder Singh, Ashok Kumar son of late Paras Ram, Bajinder Singh son of Om Parkash and Pradeep Kumar son of Ram Adhar Katiyar. The accused were arrested by the CBI in SI paper leakage scam. Today accused were produced in custody by Investigating Officer, DySP Prashant Sharma of CBI, ACB, Jammu and party in connection with aforesaid FIR for offences under section 120-B read with Section 420 of IPC along with case diary with a prayer for grant of fifteen (15) days of police remand in respect of the accused. The CJM after perusal of CA file observed that the accused seem to have been arrested on 6/11/2022 in FIR in question. Investigation is at the initial stage insofar as it pertains to the accused. In order to pin-down the role of accused in the FIR in question, prayer of investigating agency to seek police remand in respect of accused, on facts and for reasons outlined in application, therefore seems to be validly tenable and is therefore granted. Accused is thus remanded to police custody for a period of ten (10) days from today till 16.11.2022. (JNF) |
