The Jhiri mela (fair) is celebrated/ organised every year in the memory of the martyrdom of 'Baba Jittoo', a farmer saint, who gave up his life about 500 years ago in protest against the oppressive demands of a landlord.
The Div Com welcomed the devotees who have thronged the shrine of Baba Jitto and his daughter 'Bua Kodi'.

A traditional Dangal competition organised by the Mela Management Committee witnessing the participation of professional wrestlers hailing from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and several parts of Jammu and Kashmir was one of the major attractions of the day.
