ADC Jammu reviews Gurpurab arrangements

JAMMU, Nov 7: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Law & Order) Jammu, Harvinder Singh today chaired a joint meeting of officers of line departments and members of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to review the arrangements for smooth celebration of 553rd Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of district administration, besides the functionaries of JMC, PHE, PDD, Health, Members of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and other concerned.
The President of DGPC Ranjit Singh Tohra apprised the Chair that after usual programs at Local Gurudwaras, main function will be held at Gurudwara Sri Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu from 10 AM onwards.
He also apprised him about the required arrangements like security, sanitation, water, electricity, traffic, barricading, fire tenders, medical facilities etc.
It was also informed that devotees can pay obeisance from 10 am to 5 pm at Chand Nagar Gurudwara.
The ADC had a detailed review of the arrangements being put in place by different departments including transportation, water and power supply, sanitation, medical facilities and other basic amenities in and around Gurudwaras in the district during the celebration.
The ADC asked the Traffic Department to ensure proper management and regulation of traffic to avoid inconvenience to the devotees. Similarly, the Police department was asked to ensure adequate arrangements of security by deploying additional police personnel.
He asked the Health department to ensure adequate Medicare and keep standby emergency ambulance services at the venues of major congregations.
The ADC directed the JMC to ensure cleanliness, availability of mobile toilets and dustbins in identified places besides in and around Gurudwaras.
The PHE and PDD Departments were asked to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply along with additional water tankers at the main venue.
The ADC called for interdepartmental coordination and impressed upon functionaries of concerned departments to put in place all necessary arrangements well in time for the smooth celebration of the auspicious day.
SP, Kuldeep Handa; CMO, Dr Harbaksh Singh, ACG, Rakesh Dubey besides office bearers of DGPC including Vice President, Balwinder Singh; Treasurer, Jagpal Singh; Incharge Dharam Prachar Committee, Gurmeet Singh, along with district officers were present in the meeting.
