DC Reasi distributes certificates among 30 aspiring women entrepreneurs

REASI, Nov 7: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi, Babila Rakwal, Monday urged the educated unemployed women of the district to come forward and take advantage of different self-employment schemes (SES) launched by the U T Government to overcome the unemployment issue in the district.
The DC was addressing a certificate distribution function on the last day of the EDP programme held here at DECC Reasi.
Speaking during the valedictory session of the EDP, the DC said that unemployment was a serious issue and entrepreneurship is the only solution to this problem. She congratulated the aspiring female entrepreneurs for taking a life changing decision to choose entrepreneurship as their career . She said that different schemes have been launched specially for women as an endeavour to empower them. She also held one to one interaction with passout aspiring entrepreneurs and distributed certificates among them.
She apprised them about various opportunities available for women entrepreneurs in J&K.
Earlier, it was revealed that a 10-Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) was held under Tejaswani Livelihood Scheme at JKEDI Reasi to achieve the special endeavor of Mission Youth of J&K Government to empower the young women by helping them to become self-reliant. The candidates have successfully completed the 10 day training programme.
Sharing their experiences at the valediction ceremony, the trained female entrepreneurs said that the training programme has given them a great deal of confidence to start their entrepreneurial journey.
Pertinent to mention, the Tejaswini scheme is a special endeavour of Mission Youth to empower young women and enable them to become self-reliant.
The trained female candidates under the scheme shall be facilitated to avail financial assistance to the extent of Rs 5.00 lakhs.
The Nodal Officer for the scheme AD Reasi Rekha Bali, District Nodal officer EDI, Sorab, SO Employment Khem Raj, Employment Officer Ajay Kumar and Hari Bhushan from JKEDI were also present on the occasion.
