GM Northern Railway holds meeting in lucknow

New Delhi, Nov 14: Shri Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway held a meeting in Lucknow today on 14.11.2022, with Hon'ble Ministers/MPs of constituencies falling under the jurisdiction of Lucknow and Moradabad Divisions of Northern Railway. This meeting was organized by Hon'ble Minister of Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw as a necessary initiative for General Managers of Zonal Railways to reach out to general public for suggestions and directions in order to provide better services to the country. The meeting was organized to discuss and resolve issues related to Railways with public representatives in each parliamentary constituency falling under the jurisdiction of Lucknow and Moradabad Divisions of Northern Railway.
The programme was inaugurated with a welcome address by the Deputy General Manager (General), Shri Satya Prakash Singh wherein the Officers present were also introduced to the Hon’ble MPs. Presenting a comprehensive picture of Northern Railway, Shri Gangal apprised the House about completion of various important works, developmental activities and projects being done by Northern Railway in the jurisdiction of Lucknow and Moradabad Divisions. Later, he also updated those present with details about new initiatives being undertaken.
“Northern Railway is moving forward on the path of continuous progress. The guidance and advice provided by the Hon’ble public representatives remains very relevant and inspiring for us”, Shri Gangal said.
On this occasion, Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow Division, Shri Suresh Kumar Sapra and Divisional Railway Manager, Moradabad Division, Shri Ajay Nandan also made presentations related to developmental activities in their respective Divisions.
Hon’ble MPs and their representatives also put forward demands like additional stoppages of trains, running of new trains, increase in passenger facilities, development of facilities at stations and proper cleanliness. They also put forward their assurance about completing ongoing development works and projects as per quality stipulations and timelines given along with secure, safe and punctual train operations. All major department heads, divisional officers and other concerned officers were present on the occasion. The meeting was held in a very cordial and healthy environment. All Hon’ble MPs and representatives appreciated the initiative to organize the meeting and said that this initiative will prove to be very effective in the development of the region with active contribution of Railways.
Shri Ashutosh Gangal assured the Hon'ble MPs that Northern Railway will try to resolve matters raised by the MPs at the earliest. He further added that Northern Railway is always committed to serve its passengers and constantly improve its services. He said today's meeting will set a special precedent in the direction of creating a new and better railways by through modernization. The vote of thanks was given by Deputy General Manager (General), Shri Satya Prakash Singh who expressed his gratitude to all guests.
General Manager, Northern Railway, New Delhi Shri Ashutosh Gangal, along with other officers of Headquarters, also reviewed efforts being made by Northern Railway, Lucknow Division related to implementation of new amenities, schemes and processes towards modernizing the railways. During this visit, the General Manager along with visiting officials and Divisional Railway Manager of Northern Railway, Lucknow Division, Shri Suresh Kumar Sapra and other Divisional Officers inspected the Uttaretiya - Alamnagar section of Lucknow and upon reaching Alamnagar railway station, inspected progress of ongoing development works there. With Alamnagar station set to be converted into a satellite station, various types of projects and processes are being implemented at the station. When completed, the additional pressure of passenger trains at the Division’s main station - Charbagh Railway Station, will be reduced. It will also become possible to expand business policies of the Railways in the division.
Stressing on the importance of railways as a key lifeline of nation’s progress, Shri Ashutosh Gangal asked for all developmental works to be completed to highest standards of quality and within given timeframes. He also encouraged and inspired all railway personnel present to put in their best multi-dimensional efforts in contribution towards nation building.
