Attacked with pistol, poor laborers hailed from Yogi’s constituency | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 14: Even as two migrant workers were injured in a targeted attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on November 12 evening, the duo was attacked with a pistol. Sources said the duo hailed from the Gorakhpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath and had been putting up in tin shed where they were attacked with a pistol. One of the seriously wounded has been rushed to Srinagar for specialized treatment. A senior official said told the Early Times on the condition of anonymity that the duo had been attacked with pistol as could be ascertained from the injury and cartridges recovered from the spot. The official said that what was equally shocking was that the duo had been braving the biting cold in a tin shed. “The attackers knew that attacking the poor people who could be shivering in cold would be easy and thus they carried out the dastardly attack,” said the official in the know of the matter. This was the second targeted attack on non-locals in the Anantnag district this month. As per the police, the non-local labourers were attacked in the Rakh Momin area of south Kashmir. “Terrorists fired upon & injured two outside labourers in Rakh-Momin area of Anantnag. Both the injured are being shifted to hospital for treatment. Area being cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” the J&K Police had said. On November 3, two non-locals, working in a private school at Bondialgam in same Anantnag, were injured in an attack. The injured labourers were from Bihar and Nepal and were working at a private SAPS school at Bondialgam in the district. On October 18, two non-local labourers hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj were killed after militants hurled a grenade at them in the Harmain in the Shopian district.
