Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 10: AICC incharge JK Affairs and Member Rajya Sabha Smt Rajni Patil today appealed all like minded forces, groups and individuals to join the Yatra which is above politics and meant to unite hearts. Rajni Patil was briefing media persons here today at party Hq, during the course of series of preparatory meetings for the upcoming Bharat jodo Yatra. She said that the Yatra has nothing to do with politics and the party is not evaluating its political benefits for the party but Rahulji leading this Yatra for uniting the people and strengthen the message of unity in diversity besides understanding the problems, sufferings and aspirations of different sections of the society. Post independence, this is the unique and historical initiative of the Congress party led by Rahul Gandhi. She was accompanied by in the press conference by PCC President Vikar Rasool Wani,AICC Jt Secretary Manoj Yadav, Former PCC President GA Mir, working President Raman Bhalla, GN Monga, Ravinder Sharma and other Senior leaders. She said that a rousing reception awaits Bharat jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir and there is great enthusiasm amongst people since Jammu and Kashmir has suffered the most and lost its identity, status and rights of a historical state of the country, apart from record unemployment and recruitment scams. Patil said that this phase of Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir would be most significant for various reasons since it is very close to the heart of congress party and Gandhi family and Rahul Gandhi would like to send an important message to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country through this yatra. She said that people anxiously wait for the Yatra and we have positive message from different quarters of Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that people of all walks would welcome and join the same. She appealed to all like minded forces, groups, NGOs, and individuals and other suffering sections are requested to welcome and join to send a message of unity, brotherhood, harmony and strength of togetherness from the soil of Jammu and Kashmir. She said that Yatra is expected to enter in the third week of January from Lakhanpur, for which different committees and groups would be constituted. She also sought the cooperation of the general people and different organizations for the historic event post independence which is meant to spread the message of unity in diversity, rising above politics. Earlier she chaired a meeting of Senior leaders including Ex Legislators, in the morning which lasted for three hours. The meeting was attended by PCC President, AICC Jt Secretary Manoj Yadav, Chairman PCC coordination committee and Ex President PCC G A Mir, working President Raman Bhalla, G N Monga, Ravinder Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney,Kanta Bhan, Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Indu Pawar, S S Channi, Manmohan Singh, Shah Nawaj Chaudhary, Rajnish Sharma , T S Bajwa, Ved Mahajan, Raman Mattoo, Krishan Bhagat, Shameema Raina, Pranav Shagotra and others . Later she also separately interacted with Senior PCC leaders, District Presidents, corporators, heads of frontal organizations and cells to seek their suggestions and give guidance in the matter. |
