Jammu, Dec 14: Army troops have rescued passengers stranded on Mughal road in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said here on Wednesday. He said that late night on Tuesday, Indian Army received a distress call from civil administration seeking assistance for rescue of stranded passengers on Mughal road. "A truck had slipped and blocked the road leading to traffic jam due too which approximately 15 vehicles and 30 passengers were stranded in sub zero temp conditions," he said. He added that on receiving the information, a team of Indian Army immediately sprung into action, adding, "on reaching the site, the team quickly cleared the blockade and rescued the passengers who were shifted and provided meals." "Prompt action by Indian Army rescued the stranded passengers with safety, which was highly appreciated by all," he said. |
