PDP leader criticizes Dr Farooq, his father | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 11: A senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and former Member Parliament has come under the scanner for allegedly criticizing former chief minister and the National Conference founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and his successor Dr Farooq Abdullah, who also happens to be the chairperson of the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD). In the purported video that has gone viral on the social media, the senior PDP can be heard making a veiled attack on the National Conference founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah accusing him of having been “non-serious” towards the interests of Kashmir.” The PDP leader subsequently took a dig at the National Conference president and acting Member Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah accusing him of similar charges. What is even interesting is that PDP was among the main parties who nominated Dr Farooq Abdullah as the chairman of the PAGD. The video that is being widely circulated among the social circles has caused a stir in the political circles with the Apni Party headed by Syed Altaf Bukhari seeking explanation from both NC and PDP over the issue. “I wonder how this senior leader of PDP is taking it to next personal level & is using indecent dilect against Sher-i-Kashmir & @JKNC ‘s President who is also a chairman of @JKPAGD . Will @MehboobaMufti react to this? Or PDP and NC are taking fool out of people on nane of PAGD,” said Khalid Rathore, Apni Party leader in his social media post. Its pertinent to mention that cracks have surfaced in the PAGD quite often than before whereas both the PDP and the NC in particular don’t seem to be on the same page. While no PAGD meeting was held in the last few months, the NC doesn’t seem to be interested in holding any such meeting in near future. Sources the NC wants to be away from the PAGD for the last few months which means that the Gupkar alliance won’t last for long. |
