Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: A five day training programme on Content Enrichment and Pedagogical Approach in the teaching of Economics concluded today at JKSCERT Jammu. This programme was organized by Department of Curriculum Development and Studies from 6th Feb.to 10th Feb.2023 under the mentorship of H.R. Pakhroo, worthy Joint Director JKSCERT Jammu. The inaugural ceremony was chaired by H.R. Pakhroo ,worthy Joint Director JKSCERT Jammu. While addressing the gathering, he said that Economics is an ever evolving subject and upgradation in content and teaching methodology in teaching Economics is the need of the hour that will ultimately help in honing the skills of young students in the fields of economics .Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were Swaran Singh Jaral, Prof. Surjeet Kumar, Prof. N.P.Singh, Associate Professor, Pawan Gupta, Assoc. Prof. Vinod Mahajan, Assoc. Prof. and Kishore Kumar, Assoc. Prof. JKSCERT Jammu. Swaran Singh Jaral, Professor and Head, Academic Unit-II, gave welcome address on the inaugural day. The programme was attended by 50 lecturers in Economics from all the districts of Jammu Division.The aim and objective of this programme was to enhance the content knowledge and adopt modern pedagogical skills and competency based education in teaching of Economicsas per NEP 2020 at senior secondary level. Resource persons in the programme Sandeepan Gupta, Sr. Lect. Commerce, SRML HSS, Daka Dakinder Singh, Sr.Lect. Commerce, GBHSS Gandhi Nagar, Harpal Singh, Sr. Lect. GBHSS Bakshinagar, Dr. Shamim Ahmad, Sr. Assistant Prof. SPMR College of Commerce, Rajesh Hali, Sr. A.O. and Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Sr.A.O., JKSCERT Jammu provided deep insight and clarity into various concepts of Economics like Introductory Economics, consumer equilibrium, aggregate demand and aggregate supply, concept of cost, mean deviation, standard deviation, producer Equilibrium and supply, determination of Income and Employment, Investment multiplier, foreign exchange and balance of payment, problems of Excess and Deficient Demand, Concept of Revenue, money and banking, National Income etc. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Sr.Academic Officer. She was assisted by Mtr Shazia Kousar, A.O. Deepak Kumar, A.O. was the technical coordinator. The programme was managed by the team members namely Puneet Thukral, Dr.Balgar Singh, Bindia Balwal, Rohit Sharma, Rakesh Chobber, Meena Thakur, Manisha Chun and ArshKour. On the last day of the programme, participants deliberated group presentations and also shared their valuable feedback. Valedictory function was graced by H.R. Pakhroo, worthy Joint Director, JKSCERT Jammu. He urged the participants to disseminate the knowledge and experiences gained in the programme in actual classrooms and make their teaching more interactive, innovative and demonstrative as per the vision of NEP 2020.Certificates of appreciation were also given to the resource persons.
