Modi-Shah effect: From Sofi Yosuf to Mahan Singh, BJP ensures discipline in land eviction | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 10: In a classic display of discipline, the Bharatiya Janta Party led government at the Centre has not been shielding any of its leaders allegedly found involved in the land grab in Jammu and Kashmir as could be seen in the last around a fortnight. Recently authorities in Kashmir took possession of a commercial building constructed on the State land in the Srigufwara area of the district, allegedly belonging to BJP leader Sofi Yousuf. Sources said Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah have directed the administration to ensure discipline in land eviction. As per the complainants, the family of Sofi Yousuf—who is the She Prabhari of the party had encroached over one kanal of State land at Srigufwara, Bijbehera and had raised a commercial building there. Yousuf claimed that he had documents of the land. The concerned officials took possession of the building and handed it over to the Rural Development Department (RDD) Kashmir for further use. Officials also retrieved nine kanals and 15 marlas of land from District Development Council, Chairman, Kathua, Col (retd) Mahan Singh from Plahi village. A senior functionary of the Bharatiya Janta Party told Early Times on the condition of anonymity that the Central Government has made it clear to the Jammu and Kashmir administration that anybody from the party if found guilty in the land grab should not be spared in the ongoing eviction drive. “Both Modi Ji and Amit Shah Ji are of the opinion that charity begins at home and thus to ensure discipline in the eviction drive nobody guilty should be spared and this example will go a long way in making image on BJP in Jammu and Kashmir,” the BJP leader said. |
