DC finalises Maha Shivratri festival arrangements

KISHTWAR, Feb 11: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting of District officers along with Representatives of Religious organization to finalise the arrangements for upcoming festival of Maha Shivratri.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Khalil Ahmed Poswal; ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACD, Atul Dutt Sharma; CMO, Dr M Y Mir; Tehsildar, Muneeb Umar; Executive Officer MC, Ninad Singh Sen other concerned District Officers besides representatives of religious organisations.
At the outset, the representatives of the religious organisations informed that this year the Maha Shivratri festival shall be celebrated on 18th February 2023. They put forth their demands regarding the arrangements for the smooth celebration of the festival.
During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on arrangements including power and water supply, sanitation, security, traffic management, fire tenders, availability of essentials particularly sugar, flour, rice , LPG and constituting of market price checking team etc.
The DC asked the Police Department to make elaborate security arrangements, including deployment of police personnel at Shri Gori Shanker Temple Sarkoot, Neelkanth Temples, Shiv Temple, Raghu Nath ji Temple Semina road, BindraBan Temple, Neel Gangeshwari Temple, Shiv Temple Bhandarkoot, Shiv Mandir near TRC etc where rush of devotees is witnessed on the said occasion.
He asked the Traffic department to put in place the rational traffic management plan during the festive occasion to avoid unnecessary jam and inconvenience to public and devotees.
The Health authorities were asked to ensure availability of ambulances and other medical facilities to tackle any emergency, if any.
Kishtwar Municipal Council was tasked to ensure the cleanliness in and around all temples, routes leading to religious places and streets of the town.
Besides, they were directed to conduct intensive market checking to avoid over profiteering and sale of rotten/sub standard food items to consumers.
Besides, various other arrangements like deployment of duty magistrates, establishment of control room were also discussed at the meeting.
