Aashirwad Pe Aashirwad: Top officer gets another ‘lifeline,’ transfer order changed within 1-hour | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11: Even as the top officer for the last more than two years in addition to other important charges has been heading a key department, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on February 10 changed his transfer order within one hour only to let him continue to hold the charge of the department from where he was shifted. Officials said whereas normally an official needs to be transferred after two years and that the transfer of the said officer was “long overdue”, he managed to “persuade the corridors of power to let him continue as the head of an important department. Sources said a visiting Union Minister may have “used his good offices to let the officer continue to hold the charge of the department. Senior officials at the Civil Secretariat said it was for the first time in the last several years that “such a quick U-turn was done in the long pending transfer of any officer. The officer who was transferred was again given additional charge of the departments which were taken away from him. According to Govt order issued by General Administration Department, "In continuation of Government Order No. 207-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated 10.02.2023, .......... the officer shall hold the charge of the post of Administrative Secretary of the department (from where he was transferred), in addition to his own duties, till further orders." Earlier, the Govt issued an order which read: "The officer has been transferred and posted to another department.........on full time basis." Despite repeated attempts, the said official couldn’t be contacted for comments while the officials are likely to pick up the issue with the Raj Bhawan in the coming days. But why is the said officer keen to be in the same department and why was the transfer order changed so quickly? (To be concluded) |
