Minimum temp remains below zero degrees in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 15: Minimum temperature improved but still stayed below zero in Kashmir valley amid dry weather forecast on Wednesday, officials said. The Meteorological department forecast partly cloudy but dry weather to continue in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 2 hours and there would be no large change in weather during the next two day. There is a possibility of light rain, snow in plains and light to moderate snow in middle and higher reaches during late night of February 19-20 afternoon, the MeT predicts. With overall improvement in the weather conditions, the day temperature all across the Kashmir valley rose to 3 to 4 degree Celsius above normal on Wednesday. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, had a low of minus 0.2 degree Celsius on Wednesday against minus 1.6 degree Celsius a day ago. It was 0.3 degree Celsius below normal during this period of the season. Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway recorded at minus 1.2 degree Celsius against minus 3.0 degree Celsius the previous night. It was 1.1 degree below normal during this period of the season. Pahalgam in south Kashmir had a low of minus 3.6 degree Celsius against minus 4.6 degree Celsius recorded a day ago. It was 0.8 degree Celsius Below normal for the tourist spot. Kupwara recorded a low of minus minus 1.7 degree Celsius against minus 3.5 degree Celsius the previous night, while Kokernag had a low of minus1.5 degree Celsius against 2.4 degree Celsius a day ago. Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 4.2 degree Celsius against minus 7.2 degree Celsius on the previous night. It was 2.6 degree Celsius above normal for the famous ski resort in north Kashmir, the MeT office said. |
