Govt should bail out people from prevailing situation: Rattan Lal | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 27: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President J&K National Conference Jammu today strongly asked the central government to bail out the people in J&K from the prevailing situation comprising morass, uncertainty and fear psychosis on account of frequent terrorist activities especially against the minority community. Pertinent to mention that terrorists killed a Kashmir Pandit who was identified as Sanjay Sharma, working as an armed guard in his village, in the Achan area of the south Kashmir district in the morning hours. In a statement issued here today, Rattan Lal Gupta termed the incident as highly reprehensible and unfortunate while stressing that violence will yield nothing but only further death and destruction. He said that the intensity of such acts is engulfing everyone and there exists a sense of fear and anxiety among the people. “The government must ensure that such acts are efficiently stalled in the future and a sense of security must prevail. The elements inimical to peace should be brought to justice for their dastardly acts,” he said. He further prayed for the departed soul and expressed profound solidarity with the bereaved family. He appealed to the government to grant adequate compensation of Rs 25 lakhs and a government job and security protection to the family of Sanajay Sharma. The senior NC leader asked the Lt Governor to fulfill the demands of protesting Kashmir Pandit and other employees posted in Valley. He said that Hindus working in Kashmir were being treated like bonded laborers and forced to become scapegoats. Rattan Lal Gupta asked Lt Governor to release pending salaries of protesting Kashmir Pandit and other category employees as the situation is not conducive for employees to resume their jobs in Kashmir. |
