DDC chairman directs Revenue officials to clear sanctioned PHCs land issues within 15 days

JAMMU, Mar 3: Bharat Bhushan, Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Jammu has directed the Revenue Department to clear all the land issues related to the establishing of sanctioned new type Primary Health Centres (PHCs) within 15 days so that the work on these will be commenced at the earliest. The DDC Chairman passed on the direction to the officers of Revenue Department during a meeting of the District Development Council at his office chamber in presence of the DDC members.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were ADDD Jammu, Ramesh Lal; CMO Jammu, SDM North, Tehsildars North and Bhalwal and Officials of Revenue Department. It is pertinent to mention here that the meeting was convened to review the status of new type Primary Healthcare Centres sanctioned for Villages Dumi, Barn, Dhar Dalocha, Patoli Brahmana, Dhanu and Gorda, all falling in district Jammu.
The issue of the clearance by the Revenue Department of all the prerequisites for the land on which the aforesaid PHCs have to be constructed/ established was discussed and deliberated in detail during the meeting. The Revenue officials headed by ADDD Jammu, Ramesh Lal informed the DDC Chairman and his co-members about the progress on the verification and clearance related to the land for these novel PHC projects.
Bharat Bhushan, while chairing the meeting, reiterated the government's commitment to provide basic amenities to people at their door steps. He said that since Health and medicare are among the most significant basic amenities essential for the people, therefore the issue of the new PHCs deserves utmost priority. He said that this issue assumes further significance in view of the fact that the aforesaid areas are without health centres and people here are facing huge problems in absence of health centres.
The DDC Chairman said that under the Prime Minister's visionary policies Health has been fixed as topmost priority which is evidenced by multiple schemes including AYUSH rolled out in this regard for the people of the world's largest democracy. He said that it is the duty of the people's representatives as well as the official machinery to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that health related projects don't get delayed.
