| SE Rajouri circle fails to open road construction tender | | |

Poonch, Mar 24: Superintendent Engineer (SE) of Public Works Department Rajouri circle not opening a tender has raised many eyebrows.
According to details available with Early Times the PWD Rajouri had issued e NIT vide number 73 of 2022-23 on February 8, 2023, for the submission of tenders of four roads including “Construction of road from Timbra Kalani bridge to 9th kilometres Mandi Phagla PMGSY road, via mohalla Kheit Fatehpur, tehsil Mandi district Poonch “ , the last date of submission of the tender was February 23 and the date and time of opening of technical bid was February 24.
However, the bids haven’t been opened till date. When a local leader took up this matter with concerned SE, he said there are 23 roads in the stay list. “If the said road doesn’t figure in the stay list then the bid will be opened earliest,” the leader quoted SE as having said.
Locals including Sarfraz, Zulfiqar and others have appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor to direct the concerned Superintendent Engineer PWD Rajouri Circle to open a bid without further delay. “Why is PWD delaying the process? The administration should order a probe to find the truth,” locals said. |
