Early Times Report DODA, Mar 29: Public outreach programmes were held across the district of Doda at four different locations under the banner of Block Diwas, here today. These programmes were supervised by Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan. The Block Diwas was held at Assar block headquarters, Gandoh sub divisional headquarters, Bhaderwah block headquarters and Thathri tehsil headquarters. Large numbers of people attended the programme at all four locations and demanded upgrades to local infrastructure in health and education sectors, as well as improved road connectivity, water and power facilities. Participants also raised demands for macadamisation of roads, execution of works under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) and upgrading electricity poles. During the day-long proceedings, the public and representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions put forth a range of issues and demands. The presiding officers gave a patient hearing to these issues and directed concerned officers to prepare a list of grievances pertaining to their departments and resolve them at the earliest. |
