Early Times Report DODA, Mar 29: A workshop to educate doctors and paramedical staff about the disposal of bio-medical waste was held at the office of CMO Doda, organised by the District Health Society. Around 30 participants from Block Ghat attended the workshop, which was held under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ab Hamid Zargar. Sanitary Inspector, Zaheer Abass was the guest speaker who gave a lecture on the importance of segregating biomedical waste and treating each category appropriately and effectively to render it harmless. He informed participants about the generation and proper keeping, segregation and disposal of biomedical waste and the use of black, red, blue, yellow and white dustbins for disposal. He also warned that if bio-waste is not disposed of properly, it can cause diseases/infections that adversely affect patients, attendants, medical/paramedical staff and the surrounding environment. Besides others, District Programme Manager NHM (National Health Mission), Jahangir Mehta; Block Medical Education Officer NHM, Mashhood Latif and Incharge Stores, Zeeshan Ali Tramboo were also present on the occasion. |
