Conman leaves behind joke of ‘Bhabi Ji Ki Covid Dawai’
4/7/2023 11:01:11 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 7: Even as conman Kiran Patel has been handed over to Gujarat Police for further investigations into the case, his having misled the officials in Kashmir that his wife had invented medicine against Covid has become joke in the bureaucratic circles in the Union Territory.
During his multiple visits to Kashmir since last year, Patel who had been faking to be Additional Director at the Prime Minister’s Office would also make false claims about the achievements of his wife.
Sources said during his interactions with the officials from civil and police administration in Kashmir, most of them would ask him questions like “Sir Bhabi Ji Kaisi Hein? Kya Kaam Karti Hein?”
Sources said to such questions, the conman would say that his wife was a researcher who has developed a medicine for Covid. “Bhabi Ji Ne Covid Ki Dawai Banayee Hai!” the conman would respond.
Sources said in a bid to appease the “PMO officer” many of the officials, who were desirous of seeking favors from Patel would not miss the opportunity to appreciate her achievement.
Sources said many of the officials who wanted to be in the “good books of the PMO man so that he blesses them with plum postings” would express desire to buy the “Bhabi Ji Ki Covid Dawai”.
Sources said some such officials were even ready to make bulk purchase of “Bhabi Ji Ki Covid Ki Dawai” through government order for prospective distribution among patients.
“Every such official and officer including those from police had been leaving no stone unturned to appease him (Patel) on every front so that he speaks good about them in the ‘PMO’ and helps them get prize posting but none of such worthy public servants did ever realize that he was only a conman who had been making a fool of them,” said a senior official in the know of the matter.
Sources said the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, VK Bhiduria who is the inquiry officer into the case has been questioning officials from civil and police administration to fix responsibility over the alleged lapse on the part of the administration that led to the conman get “VIP protocol”.
Patel was arrested from Srinagar on March 3 and had been custody till April 6 when he was handed over to the Gujarat Police.
