Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 9: In a meeting chaired by its President Capt. Anil Gour with other Office Bearers; TAAJ members wholeheartedly appreciated Hon’ble LG Sh. Manoj Singh for all the steps being taken to ensure there is increased footfall in Jammu Province. TAAJ has welcomed the inauguration of the Sansar Tulip Garden by LG Manoj Sinha & stated that it’s due to his directions that the size of this Tulip Garden has been increased to 40 Kanals of land from the earlier 3 Kanals. This will act as a huge attraction for all the pilgrim tourists & ensure that they will stay in Patnitop / Sansar thus boosting the occupancy of the hotels there. Members requested LG to issue strict directions to the PWD wing to upgrade the Nathatop – Sanasar Road & also complete the 3km stretch of Nashiri – Sanasar road immediately as Taxi Operators are reluctant to take tourist to Sanasar due to the bad condition of the road.
Capt Anil Gour also informed the members that due to the efforts of Hon’ble LG, there has been an In Principle Sanction by the Empowered Committee to build a Convention Center in Patnitop Area. This will give a huge boost to MICE Tourism to this region & attract all the corporates to conduct their meetings here.
The members also appreciated the progress on the Tawi River Front Project & Jambu Zoo and were of the view that once these projects are completed the tourist footfall within Jammu City will increase tremendously. Alongwith these projects an Amusement Park is required to be made in Sidhra area adjacent to the Golf Course. This will give a boost to the Hotel Industry & other business establishments in the premier markets of Jammu.
The members also congratulated Hon’ble LG Manoj Sinha Ji for being listed as the 25th Most Powerful Person in India by Indian Express group. This achievement is only due to the hands-on approach adopted by him & the untiring efforts put in to bring back normalcy in Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting was chaired Capt. Anil Gour (retd) President TAAJ & attended by Sunil Koul Vice President, Rajinder K. Sharma–Gen. Secretary, Pankaj Vaid Treasurer, Narinder Gupta & Ajit Singh Executive Members & Sanjay Gupta, Bawa Sahni, Sanjay Gupta, Vijay Choudhary & R. Nag & Pritam members TAAJ.
