GLDM Govt Degree College organizes a counselling session on career opportunities

Jammu, Apr 12: Department of Hindi Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Govt. Degree College Hiranagar organized a counselling session on career opportunities for the students of the college. The discussion related to career after graduation and academic versus professional programs were also at the focus of the session. The Guest Speaker for the session was Mr. Divay Mahajan, who is Territory Manager Sunstone Eduversity Gurgaon. Ms. Diksha Managing Director and Ms. Nighat from College carrier 360 also accompanied the guest speaker. In the interactive session Mr. Divay, the guest speaker deliberated in detail upon the different options which the outgoing students are going to have after graduation. The opportunity in different university and the methodology by which one has to choose a field after graduation was also deliberated upon by the speaker. Students were encouraged by citing the references of many renowned people who in spite of having humble background were able to touch the pinnacle of success. The different scholarship schemes which are there to aid and support the needy students were also discussed in detail. Earlier the programme began with the welcome address by Prof. Kiran Thapa, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education. The whole programme was organized under the guidance and support of Dr. Pragya Khanna, the Principal of the College. The Principal appreciated the efforts of the organizers in planning and executing a session for the benefit and interest of the students. The session was attended by more than 70 students of semester 6th of the college. The faculty members who witnessed the session were Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Jyoti Rani, Prof. Kiran Thapa, Prof. Neha Bhagat, Mr. Vikram Jamwal, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Dr. Ravinder Singh and others. The programme ended with the formal vote of thanks presented by Dr. Arun Kumar, Head Department of Sociology.
