BLSKS concludes two day historic "Seelma Mela 2023"

JAMMU, Apr 15: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan organized "Duggar Folk Culture Mahostav", Baisakhi Seelma Mela 2023" in coordination with Goverdhan Sidh Shree Dham Trust Seelma Mandir at Buda PurKhadergal, Sarore Jammu, concludes today addressed by Chander Parkash Ganga, Former Minister of Industry and Commerce presinging programe "Nasha Mukat Bharat abhiyan". The Chief Guest underline the importance of holding such mega festival for promotion of cultural heritage of India. The chief guest greeted the people on baiskhi day and also Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jyanti which was celebrated all over the India today. Benam Tosh SSP Samba who was guest of honor lauded the efforts of organizers in highlighting the burning issues of the day including drug abuse. The Folk Dances like Jatar, Geetru, Kudru (Bhaderwahi), Bakh (Jammu), Chann, Karkan-Baran, Hindustani classical and light music were imparted to 45 trainee with special emphasis on preservation, promotion and protection of dying folk tradition of Jammu. The Program was organized in the able guidance of Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman, writer, producer, director, Folk Theatre, V.K. Magotra, MD, BLSKS and Romesh Chander, Program Coordinator with the supporting members and experts Usha Raina, Raju Bajgal, K.K. Joshi, Rajni Gupta, Sanjeev Sodi, Raju Bajgal, Kamli Devi, etc. Besides this the BLSKS also organized one day research conference on "Swachh Bharat", Make India clean events etc, and mega three performances of Tradition Art with Traditional artistes of Jammu Province at the open auditorium of Durga Bhawan & Fauji Public Hr Sec School, Rv nagar Patti Samba and National College of Computer Education, Janipur Jammu. Benam Tosh-JKPS SSP Samba presidedover the function first ever held in the area and thanked the organizer for staging a scantling performance where in over 2000 devotees/ tourist witnessed the program and also urged that such efforts of organization should continue in contributing towards promoting the cultural heritage of India especially of diminishing traditional folk , music, art of the country .
Chander Parkash Ganga, Former Minister of Industry and Commerce also disclosed the importance of the place is held very sacred and pious by all the people & also said in his speech appreciated the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, folk theatre Troupe, Janipur Jammu for highlighting the importance of Cultural heritage through live performances of Art and Culture which are still very powerful medium of dissemination of various welfare scheme for betterment of society. He also added the Historic Mela on the second Seelma Ram Talayi water Spring as its own siginifince in which people from all walk of life are curtious to visit and take holy bath in the sacred Seelma Ganga water Spring reveailed the mela and after the Darshan of Seelma Temple enjoyed stall of sweets of people of J&K and other states .
The Program was presented under the aegis of Ministry of Culture ,Govt. of India under the scheme Preservation and Development of Cultural Heriatge of the Himalayas. The program was commenced with Sarastwati Vandana, and Light classical Dance Om Sankalpamastu (Shiv Satuti ) through the trainees / traditional artistes were the special highlights of the progs. Earlier V.K Magotra gave an account of blsks( ngo) since its inception with special reference to organize of this festival. On the occasion Large Numbers of devotees / tourist take holy bath in the Ram Talayi Kund at Sarore.The seelam Baiskhi mela the symbol of imherent in cultural diversity of India.
While speaking on the occasion Dr.M.L. Dogra expressed his happiness to organize Seelma Mela District Samba Jammu region to revive the old traditions of celebrating our festivals and fairs. Dogra called upon the people to promote our old/historical festival in a true spirits with participation of maximum no. of folk traditional artist during sneh festival with these efforts we shall & highlight cultural heritages of India. And blsks visited sub Himalayan region of Jammu province surroundings of Mata Vaishno Devi, Udhampur, Ramnagar, Doda, Bhaderwah etc. and selected 50artistes from different places and organized 45 days research and Training workshop, Mahostav in the shape of this festival. Dogra prayed this festival fiuerthere the sipirt of joy & well being in over lifes. At Last Concluded of the Programme, K.K. Joshi, vice chairman presented the vote of thanks.
