| Four drug smugglers booked under PIT-NDPS act in Baramulla | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday booked four drug smugglers under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS)Act in Baramulla district.
Police identified the accused drug smuggler as Habeel Yaseen Dar alias Rouf a resident of Tarhama Kunzer, Abdul Rehman Malik alias Rehman Military of Kalantra Payeen Kreeri, Shahnawaz Ahmad Mir alias Boja of Daragutliyan Uri and Hafeez Ahmad Khan of Rehsiwari Niloosa Baramulla.
All the four drug smugglers have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority, police said and added subsequently they have been lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu. Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these drug peddlers and were involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth of Kunzer, Kreeri Wagoora, Uri, Bijhama and other areas of District Baramulla.
Despite their involvement in many FIR's they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth, police said. |
