Giving land rights to west Pak refugees historic step: Kavinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 2: A 'historic step which shall be written in letters of gold in history of JK' attributed Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, while interacting with a delegation of WPRs at BJP headquarters. This speaks of conviction and commitment of government which is committed towards welfare and well being of the people, especially flagging issues which have been left unredressed since decades and decades. Ranbir Singh Pathania, former MLA & J&K BJP Spokesperson, was particular about timely and fair compensation for acquired lands. He was canvassing for a land compensation of people affected by 4rth Tawi bridge. Award was passed in 2011 but people are still bereft of compensation. He was further dealing with land compensation cases of far flung areas where lands have been acquired since decades and a penny worth received by people as yet. He further focussed on new techniques and best practices as to how we could redress the public issues in a more effcacious way. He was critical of non start of work on Kirchi to Seoj Dhar. A multi crore road from Dudu-Kirchi to Dhar Seoj was proposed and sanctioned u/PMGSY. Work on the same was also started almost five years back but same could not be taken up due to some ecological concerns raised by the department of forests. Now that , the department of PMGSY in liaison with the department of Forests have identified an alternative location which lessens the length of the road by as many as five kilometers and as many as 500 trees also could be saved. But project still hangs midway. Amongst other general issues pertaining to land encroachments, compassionate appointments, verifications, ex-gratia to accident victims, relief to cross-firing victims, proper convening of Gram Sabhas in Pulwama, drinking water, building permissions, staff shortage, proper voltage electricity, were projected by a number of deputations who called on in the BJP office with references and telephone calls to concerned officials. Selected Junior Statistical Assistants (JSAs), SRTC employees, canvassed their issues. Rehbar E Janglats, called for a time bound regularisation and against a post having higher pay scale than that of a Forest Guard. NYCs called for rolling out a comprehensive regularisation policy as well as honorarium. Anuradha Charak, Vice President, remained present and piloted the proceedings. |
