Police works out theft cases

Rajouri, May 2: Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri has worked out two theft cases of police station Rajouri recovering stolen property worth lakhs of rupees.
Police in an official statement said that on 30th April, a person Shoib Iqbal son of Javaid Iqbal resident of Mendhar Poonch lodged a written report at Police Station Rajouri that his motorcycle Yamaha R15 has been stolen from Badhoon area with registration number of vehicle is JK21E 7323. In this regard a case FIR No 199/2023, U/S 379 IPC has been registered at Police Station Rajouri and during the course of investigation, a team headed by SHO Rajouri Mohd Showket assisted by PSI Rajat Jasrotia under the supervision of Deputy SP HQ Mudassir Hussain rounded up several suspects and one of the suspect namely Mehfooz Khan son of Razaq Khan resident of Kapa Kha of Rajouri was arrested who during his interrogation admitted commission of crime along with two Juvenile (name with held).
On their disclosure stolen bike valued 1,75 000 has been recovered while further investigation is in progress.
In another case registered in FIR No 198/2023, U/Ss 307/323/380 IPC, 3/25/30 Arms Act, an accused namely Waqar Ahmed son of Nazir Hussian resident of Badhoon Rajouri has been arrested by a team of police headed by SHO Rajouri Mohammad Showket.
Police said to have recovered Gold Ornaments worth rupees one lakh (Approx) with further investigation in the case is going on.
SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh (IPS) said that investigation in cases of theft has been prioritised by district police with an aim to solve the case and to take action against accused.
He further underlined the need of installation of CCTV cameras in both households and business establishments as the CCTV surveillance not only acts as a prevention towards cases of thefts but also helps police in investigation of cases
