Now NC targets BJP’s arch-rival AAP | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 21: Even as the National Conference is “accused of secretly improving” relations with the Bharatiya Janta Party, the NC has come down heavily on the Aam Aadmi Party, which is seen as the arch-rival of the BJP. While the AAP and the BJP have been targeting each other, essentially over the allegations of multi-crore scams in the Delhi government, the NC has joined the bandwagon. Former Chief Minister and the senior leader of the NC, Omar Abdullah and his close aides have come down heavily on the AAP “taunting it quite openly.” Omar took a dig at senior AAP leader Raghav Chadda on his social media handle hinting at tit for tat for the party led by Arvind Kejriwal. “What has been done to Delhi is a travesty & goes against the spirit of cooperative federalism. That said Raghav, it’s a shame the AAP didn’t realise the danger of its actions when it happily sided with the BJP in Aug 2019. J&K was dismembered & reduced to a union territory & the people have been disenfranchised for 5 years. Sadly your chickens have come home to roost now.” Omar had responded to Chadda who had said: “What next?! A constitutional amendment that any state that votes into power a non-BJP government will be stripped of its legislature and transformed into a centrally administered territory?” After Omar Abdullah, his close and chief spokesperson of the National Conference, Tanvir Sadiq has also been repeatedly taking a dig at the AAP. Sadiq made numerous tweets on Kejriwal in particular. While some of the Kashmir based political parties are saying that NC was trying to keep doors open for any prospective alliance with the BJP in future, the “grand old party of Kashmir seems to be into balancing tactics.” Despite repeated attempts the NC leaders couldn’t be contacted for comments. |
