Raman Suri said that the magnificent temple constructed with stones brought from Andhra Pradesh is a state-of-the-art temple of its own kind in Jammu and Kashmirm which will connect people from across the length and breadth of the country. He added that there were many aged and infirm besides poor who always wanted to pay obeisance at Shri Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh but it was not possible for them to do so due to multiple reasons, this temple is a boon for them. Now that Lord Venkateswara has descended in this City of Temples, it is an honour and privilege for us all to have darshan of Shri Balaji at ease. Once the doors will be thrown open on June 8 after rituals, the temple will be a great place of worship for devotees besides it will become the epitome of dissemination of religious knowledge. Since ample arrangements have been made for the inauguration and over 45 knowledgeable persons including priests have been invited from Andhra Pradesh, it is going to be a great event. Once Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha joins the TTDB chairman Y V Subba Ready in performing rituals before throwing the doors of Tirupati Balaji Temple for common public in Jammu on June 8, this place will send positive vibes across the Jammu City and it is hoped that the presence of Lord Venkateswara here will usher in a new era of peace and prosperity for the entire Jammu and Kashmir. The place is also going to be an attraction for pilgrims and tourists, who come to Patnitop as well as Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine at Katra. Set amid the scenic Shivalik forests in Majeen area, the temple has been built on 62 acres of land at an estimated cost of about Rs 30 crore. This is the sixth temple of Tirumala Tirupati Balaji that has been built outside of Andhra Pradesh, the others being at Hyderabad, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Delhi and Bhubaneswar. Lord Venkateswara, who is enshrined in Andhra Pradesh, will be giving Darshan to devotees in Jammu after June 8, this year. Raman Suri said that this temple, built exactly like the Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh, will also promote spiritual tourism in Jammu. Specially-carved idols have already been brought from Andhra Pradesh. He added that once the proposed Vedshala and spiritual centre will be built during second phase, the place will cater to many people for holding special pujas. Idols of Shri Balaji, Padmavathi Devi and Sri Andal Srivilliputhur will be worshiped before installing in the main temple. The bus services, he said, will help the devotees reach the temple comfortably, enabling more and more people to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Jammu. |
