"Article 35A Repeal Liberated J&K Women from Discrimination: Devender Singh Rana"

BAGPAT UP, June 4 : Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana highlighted the significance of repealing Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, stating that it liberated women in Jammu and Kashmir from over seven decades of discrimination and deprivation.
Addressing a conference of social media volunteers in Modi Nagar, Bagpat Parliamentary Constituency, as part of the BJP's Jan Abhiyaan to commemorate nine years of the Narendra Modi Government, Rana emphasized that the political developments of August 5, 2019, put an end to the hypocrisy of those claiming to champion women's empowerment while denying equal rights to the daughters of Jammu and Kashmir. During the event, Kanta Kamad, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, and Dr. Manju Shiwach, MLA Modi Nagar, were also present. Rana further highlighted that apart from integrating Jammu and Kashmir emotionally and psychologically with the rest of the country, the abrogation of special status ended discrimination against marginalized communities such as Valmikis, PoK refugees, Gorkhas, Gujjar Bakerwals, West PAK refugees, and other weaker sections. He emphasized that the provision which deprived daughters of their native citizenship upon marrying non-state subjects was against the principle of equality.
Devender Rana commended the determination and resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in accomplishing the BJP's mission of One India and Nation First. He criticized the Congress, which had ruled both the country and Jammu and Kashmir for the better part since independence, for its insensitivity towards the people, particularly women.
Throughout the day, Devender Rana engaged with media persons, prominent citizens of the Bagpat Lok Sabha Constituency, and paid floral tributes to freedom fighters Ashfaq-ullah Khan and Ram Prasad Bismal at Vandna Chowk on the way to Bagpat.
In his discourse, the senior BJP leader highlighted numerous achievements of the Modi Government over the past nine years, which have inspired people not only in India but around the world. He emphasized that India is viewed as an upcoming superpower capable of leading nations in resolving crises and conflicts. Rana added that the development and nation-building have remained top priorities for Prime Minister Modi. Rana also highlighted Jammu and Kashmir's recognition as one of the best-performing Union Territories in implementing the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, providing health insurance coverage to 97 percent of the population. He noted the industrial revolution in Jammu and Kashmir with significant private investment proposals, operational industrial units, and the rise of start-ups. He mentioned the record-breaking influx of tourists, improved education, empowerment of tribal communities, and addressing the concerns of various segments of society.
Referring to the charisma of Prime Minister Modi, Rana mentioned the praise from Australian and African Prime Ministers, emphasizing the global recognition of his leadership. He highlighted the government's initiatives, such as providing free rations and COVID-19 vaccines, and India's economic growth, positioning it as one of the world's largest economies.
