After war of words with BJP, infighting in Apni Party | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 4: A few days after the Apni Party leaders locked horns with their counterparts in the Bharatiya Janta Party in Srinagar, “infighting has worsened” in the Kashmir based party. Former MLA and senior leader of the Apni Party has alleged that the roads and drainage in Srinagar are dilapidated putting the people to inconvenience. “Dilapidated roads and defunct drainage system in Srinagar cause misery to the people in Srinagar,” the Apni Party leader said in his poster viral on the social media. It’s pertinent to mention that colony roads and drainage in Srinagar are largely under the Srinagar Municipal Corporation headed by Mayor from the Apni Party. Also the District Development Council Chairperson for Srinagar is also from the same party. Observers said the poster has allegedly exposed the “infighting in the party.” “When both the Mayor and the DDC Chairperson are from the same party how can their colleague make complaint unless there’s some problem in the party?” asked the political observer on the condition of anonymity. Recently a senior leader of the party of who is also a DDC member had taken a dig at his counterpart in the SMC seeking action and had exposed that “all is not well in the party.” Interestingly one of the aides of a senior leader of the party had publicly questioned the Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari and accused him of changing colors. Sources have been saying that apart from infighting within the party leaders some of the leaders are accused of “waging revolt in the party cadres.” “When the party leaders ridicule at each other and their aides question the party leadership, things are getting clear that all is not well in the Apni Party,” said one observer. Despite repeated attempts the Apni Party leader who raised questions over bad roads and drainage in Srinagar couldn’t be contacted for comments. |
