Early Times Report JAMMU, June 9: To celebrate the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" and promote the Duggar culture of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production, presented the 363rd Friday Series Musical Play titled "Ganga Tera Pani Amrit" at Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu. The play revolved around the theme of National Integration and Communal Harmony. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, V.K. Magotra, former Regional Director of the Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Dr. Naresh Sharma from the Health Department of J&K Government, J.K. Parihar, Former Music Instructor at the Song and Drama Division, and Mukesh Singh, a Media Person from J&K. The songs performed in the play were written, produced, and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, Former Assistant Director of the Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The program commenced with the Welcome Song "Swagatam" and featured songs such as "Ganga Tera Pani Amrit," "Aoo Manaye Azadi Ka Mahotsav," and "Souda Eko Jeha - Dil Dena Te Dil Mangna." Renowned artists from Jammu and Kashmir performed dances and sang these songs. The music for the songs was composed by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor at BLSKS. The audience and dignitaries highly appreciated the musical performances, dances, and skits presented during the play. The chief guest praised the efforts of the BLSKS organization and dedicated the Mahotsav to the people of India, who have not only played a crucial role in India's journey but also possess the potential to uphold the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He also emphasized the importance of water conservation, stating that fresh clean water is a limited and costly resource. National integration refers to the awareness of a common identity among the citizens of a country, regardless of their communities, castes, religions, cultures, regions, or languages. The Chief Guest highlighted the significance of national integration, emphasizing that despite diversity, unity is essential. The program was recorded and uploaded online on social media platforms for the benefit of the public. In his welcome speech, Dr. Mohan Lal Dogra mentioned that Jammu and Kashmir have various folk dances performed on different occasions, such as Kud Dance, Chajja Dance, Crow Dance, and Dogri Bhangra. The region's culture is a blend of different religions, including Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam, and Buddhism. The traditional folk music of Jammu and Kashmir has a rich history, influenced by Hindustani classical music and Sufiana Kalam brought by Sufism. The culture of Jammu and Kashmir is further enriched by its local handicrafts, traditional delicacies, rich traditions, festivities, and unique music and dance forms. Dr. Dogra also highlighted the welfare programs initiated by BLSKS for the socio-economic upliftment of the people, especially minorities. He emphasized that the success of these programs and measures depends on the participation and involvement of the public.
