| Huge money spent on highway plantation drive goes down the drain | | |

Anantnag, June 9: Huge money was spent on the plantation drive carried out from Lethpora to Qazigund on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As of date all the saplings that were planted on the highway have either dried up or have vanished. “When this initiative was taken, everyone praised it. But it seems that after planting the saplings the department forgot about it,” said a local.
He said that the money which was spent on the plantation drive has all “gone waste’. “The government should order a probe and hold the officials responsible for the lapse accountable,” he added. “After planting the saplings no action was taken to ensure their growth. It shows carelessness of the department which carried out the drive,” he added. |
