Early Times Report SAMBA, June 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee conducted a public hearing at Village Daboh, Samba, regarding the Environmental Clearance of Minor Mineral (River Bed Material) Block 3/2 and Block 3/5 upstream NH1A bridge Basanter River. The public hearing saw active participation from a large number of people from Panchayat Daboh, Kaloha, Mahoregarh, Mannanu, as well as local public representatives, including BDC Members, Sarpanches/Panches, and prominent individuals from the area. During the hearing, AB Jandiyal (AEE), representing the Regional Director of JKPCC Jammu, provided an overview of the importance of conducting public hearings and the role of JKPCC. The project consultant from M/s P&M Solution, Noida (UP), presented the details of the project's salient features, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and Environment Management Plan. Various issues related to mining were discussed, and the attendees raised numerous queries during the proceedings. Rakesh Dubey, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba, and Mohammad Sayeed, District Mineral Officer, Samba, were also present at the public hearing and addressed the gathering. They assured the project-affected individuals that all important concerns and issues raised during the hearing would be recorded through videography and incorporated into the report to be submitted to the Competent Authority. Deepak Abrol, Divisional Officer JKPCC, Samba (South), provided individual briefings on the public hearing and Environment Clearance, and responded to queries raised by the attendees. Subash Chander (Draftsman) JKPCC, Samba (South), facilitated the proceedings and expressed gratitude to the chair and all participants. |
