Enhanced arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra: Women battalions, IAF surveillance | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 21: Raman Suri, Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K, expressed satisfaction and confidence in the comprehensive arrangements made by the Union Government and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's administration for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Suri praised the deployment of Women Battalions around the holy cave shrine and other locations, as well as the involvement of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in monitoring glaciers, emphasizing that these measures ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage this year. The inclusion of women police officers to assist devotees and provide support along the yatra route, at camps, and at the cave shrine is an unprecedented step, enhancing the level of arrangements. Furthermore, the vigilance of IAF personnel assigned to monitor glaciers, lakes, and other natural phenomena related to weather conditions will facilitate coordinated efforts and timely evacuation of devotees to safer places if necessary. This proactive approach significantly strengthens safety measures. Suri highlighted the significance of IAF helicopters conducting reconnaissance missions around the shrine and along the yatra route, enabling early detection of any potential dangers and alerting the authorities responsible for managing the pilgrimage. He emphasized that this measure ensures the complete safety of pilgrims. Additionally, the deployment of 85 reserved battalions from various security agencies guarantees thorough surveillance of every stretch of the yatra route. The use of drones and CCTV surveillance further enhances the ability to monitor and prevent any disruption or unrest caused by anti-social and anti-national elements. Suri commended the efforts of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, who not only accompany pilgrims to their base camps but also ensure the safety of the entire route by thoroughly inspecting and allowing vehicular movements. Both the Nunwan and Baltal routes will be meticulously scanned to ensure a secure yatra. Furthermore, the availability of IAF helicopters will facilitate the evacuation of sick or injured yatris, if required, during the pilgrimage. Welcoming pilgrims from around the world to Jammu and Kashmir, Suri stated that the pilgrimage to the Shri Amarnath Ji Cave Shrine becomes safer and more comfortable with each passing year. He credited the Union Government, post the abrogation of Article 370, for initiating various initiatives to facilitate the pilgrims. These include the establishment of Yatri Niwas, installation of weather monitoring equipment, and deployment of adequate security forces to counter any nefarious activities by terrorists. Suri encouraged pilgrims to visit in large numbers and pay their respects at the Cave Shrine, instilling confidence in their journey. |
